Sheldon School In England's Top 20

Sheldon School has once again achieved top level exam results, putting the school in the top 20 in the country.
The 2010 exam league tables show that Sheldon students performed exceptionally well in both A Levels and GCSEs last summer.
The A Level points came in at 933, the highest for any comprehensive school in the South West, and riding above many of the independent schools in the area.
For the new English Baccalaureate measure, which is based on the proportion of pupils achieving five or more A*-C grades including English, maths, science, a language and history or geography, Sheldon is equal highest in North Wiltshire and second in the county.
This news is even better considering that just one in six pupils in England achieved this English Baccalaureate measure. Read more about that in a BBC report.

Congratulations to Sheldon, but I would like to point out that Hardenhuish isn't bad either, but it's always Sheldon that gets the publicity. The stats for Hardenhuish are always a little skewed by its unit for those with extra educational needs. Hardenhuish has served my children very well - one is a third year medical student, and the other is in her first year at Cambridge.
With Abbeyfields as well, Chippenham can be very proud of its state school provision.
