Back To School: Are You Prepared?

Back to School time of year is nearly here and as usual parents will be running around trying to organise the brood for the autumn term.
But instead or making the usual trip to Swindon, Bath or Bristol in search of all the important bits - uniform, stationary, sports kit - don't forget there's everything you need in Chippenham.
The High Street may have seen better days but there are plenty of big brand names and local shops with just about all you'll need to send the kids packing back to the classroom on September 1.
Hopefully this little list below will give you some inspiration to ease the last minute rush.
Scholars are the main uniform suppliers in the town and have been offering their services since the 1950's. They have uniforms for all the main schools in the area and you can even shop for uniform online here. They have branches in Devizes, Trowbridge, Warminster, Bath and Chipppenham.
Chippenham's supermarkets have some great offers on school uniforms, with prices from as little as £3.
Sainsburys has an extensive clothing range and there is also 1/3 off on rucksacks and 3 FOR 2 on stationary.
Jumpers, sweatshirts, cardigans and polo shirts come in a range of colours as well, meaning there'll be something to suit each of Chippenham's schools. And the usual trousers, skirts, pinafore dresses are available in grey and blue. An added bonus of a trip to Sainsburys is the free parking, but don't tell anyone on the High Street that i told you that.
The same can be said for Morrisons, with even more competitive prices on their school uniform's, starting from as little as £2 for multipacks of t-shirts, socks shirts.
The High Street also has some great options with New Look offering a school's clothing range as well as Peacocks.
Select also has a small range of school clothing but mostly for girls. Also, don't forget Store 21 in Borough Parade for some bargains.
For stationary try WH Smiths, Wilkinsons, Tesco Metro in Emery Gate, A4 Stationers or Argos. They also have a large range of reasonably priced rucksacks and sports equipment in Argos from shin pads to hockey sticks. The Office Supplies Market out on Sheldon Road i a good alternative if you're not in the centre.
And for other sports wear there's Sports Direct in Emery Gate. Thanks to their constant 'closing down' sale there's always a bargain to be had.
Don't forget Sportzform either, Chippenham's specialist sports retailer where you can get trainers, running shoes, as well as sports kit for the major schools.
Shoe shops used to be aplenty in Chippenham town centre but now you have either Clarks or Shoezone to choose from. Both offer great deals but at opposite ends of the price spectrum.
Some schools, mainly the secondary and private schools, require pupils to have the school's logo on their uniform. Although this can be expensive it can be done locally. Try Scholars, alternatively grab the nearest available grandmother with a handy needle and thread.
Hopefully that's a comprehensive enough list to keep the panic at bay before the new term. As ever, if there's anything i've missed drop a comment below!
