Is the search over ?

Having spent the last decade or so working and staying all over the country, I could on most weeks, justify nipping out for a curry. Now living working in Chippenham, I still crave my weekly curry hit. The Tale of Spice not only satisfies my cravings, but I have a struggle keeping to one visit a week. The service is always great, smiles and handshakes each time I visit. The food is probably the best I've tasted in the UK. I have learnt that curry houses have their own opinion on what is hot and what is not, after all taste is subjective, but that makes searching for the bestest dish more fun ? Anywho, some top tips. The pilau rice is tops. it's fluffy, light and really tasty. Although I don't normally have a starter, those I have tried, lived up to their mouth watering descriptions. Finally, the curry tip of the year. If you like spicy and tikka chicken, try the Chicken Naga. It's got everything, heat, taste, yummy sauce and plenty of it. If you find it a little too hot, keep trying it, you’ll grow to love it. Don’t forget a cheeky Chilli Keema Nan to finish it off with. Wallace.

A restaurant that goes the extra mile!

We have visited this restaurant several times, we decided to try it with our 2 very fussy children. It was my daughters birthday and they helped decorate the table and make her feel special! The food was exceptional and the service very friendly and welcoming. We were delighted with our surprise homemade cake at the end of our meal!
I would highly recommend this restaurant for the delicious food and amazing service.
Thank you all for another wonderful evening. Helen

A treat to all my senses...

I would have never expected such class and quality other than in a city like London.
The decoration was delightful, with the inviting lighting carefully designed and a neat and limpid style that was reflected in every single detail.
One thing i specially liked was the fact that the staff were professional waiters who knew inside out the food being served. Great variety in the menu and it was cooked to my specific requests (yes, I am fussy...), served with elegance and promptness. At Tale of Spice, I have had some of the best meals in my life...a truly enjoyable experience.
(If anything..I would have liked some hand cream in the ladie's toilet...)

Positive recommendation from a very fussy customer

I was one of the fortunate few to attend the opening ceremony of Tale of Spice, a restaurant with a class. The quality of the food and service is exceptional (coming from a fussy customer). The starters and main course were, without mincing words, top notch.

I travelled from Oxfordshire to Chippenham to visit the restaurant a few months after the official opening, and I must admit they've kept the standard very high. I have therefore recommended it to friends, and will continue to recommend it to others.

As a very fussy home cook myself (my wife is lucky isn't she?) I am usually quick to complain if provided with a customer service in a restaurant or if the food isn't up to standard. I therefore must commend (not so often) the management of Tale of Spice for the standard of hygiene, customer service and quality food.

Kudos to the staff for setting a high standard of customer services and providing customers with the a variety of delicious food.

    Tale of Spice

I've been to this Restaurant twice now with 2 parties (16 on the frist occasion, and 7 the last time). The service is frist rate, the food even better, as with other reviews the popadoms are great, the starters are far and wide with something for everyone, I had the Lamb Jalfrezi this last time which was one of the best jalfrezi's I have every had, just the right mix of spice and fire from the chilli's. This restaurant is one of the best in the area and I hope that it only gets better which will mean a lot of work for the staff and owners. We seem to spend so much time here 3 - 4 hours it is so enjoyable to chat and eat great food with good company, you are not pushed to eat and leave you are made to feel like you are home from home. All in all can't wait to the next time we return. 10 out of 10.

    Tale of Spice

I've been to this Indian restaurant twice in the last 6months and it gets better each time I have a meal there. The service is frist rate, as are the popadoms, the Lamb Jalfrezi is one of the best I have had in this area of England. The starters where dose one start are great, The place has changes so much from the days when it was a pub. Can't wait to return and try somemore of the food. If only I lived in Chippenham I would have a meal here every week.

    Consistently Brillaint!

My partner and I have ordered takeaway from Tale Of Spice so many times now we've lost count. Every time we've ordered the food has been delicious, delivery has been prompt, and they often put extra poppadoms in for free! The variety on the menu is great and the portion sizes are very generous. This is definitely our favourite Indian restaurant!

Best Indian Food I've Ever Had

Tale of Spice is absolutley amazing!
My partner and I had the set meal for 2 take away and were so surpirsed at how much there was in the bag! Not only that but it was piping hot and the meat (lamb and chicken) were so juicy and tender, the sides were lovely and the dips! Popadoms were also excellent and the chips were just right!
    Recommend this restaurant to everyone!
Off out there soon for a meal so hoping the food will be as good then. :)

    Tale of Spice, Chippenham.

Have just returned from a superb evening at The Tale of Spice. My wife and I have had a couple of takeaway meals which were very nice. This being the case we decided to go there with 24 friends and family to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we were by no means disappointed! There were no complaints from anyone because the food and service were top notch. The management were very welcoming and helpful even patient with the fact we spent 4 hours there! I gave the manager a list of all the meals that were to be ordered in the morning which mean't there was next to no waiting on arrival. All in all a great time had by all and will definately be going back! Highly recommended.

    Tale of spice

Iv been to the tale of spice twice now but unfortunately i don't think I will be going again, the service is good and the popadoms are the best iv ever tasted and the chicken is succulent but the food tends to come to the table Luke warm, this has happend both times I have been there plus the medium curry isn't medium it's more mild.
