Great place.
I have only been there once but I could not say a bad thing about it. The food was really good, the prices were decent, the stuff was also nice and helpful and the atmopshere in the resturant was great. I really like the location of the place. It is in town but not right in the centre. Restaurants based right in town centre tend to be incredibly busy while in Akash you can just relax an enjoy the food.

Great place.

Authentic experience
Akash has been in town for years and offers a really traditional Indian restaurant experience. The staff could not be more helpful - last time I was there they were just about to close but opened the doors for our group even though it was late. I'd say it's a bit of a hidden gem in town - popular with the locals but not known about by everyone. Give it a go!

This tandori and balti house in Chippenham is located at The Bridge. Akash Tandori has been established since 1979 and is known as Wiltshire’s premier Indian restaurant. You’ll find at Akash top quality cuisine and good service where at weekday lunchtimes they offer a 3 course special for £9.90.

The family takeaway
As far as Indian restaurants/take aways go, I haven't been to many that can surpass Akash for quality at the price you pay.
We have been buying and dining here as a family for over 15 years and it has always been the best curry.
The service is good both in restaurant and for take away, and we have never unpacked cold food when we go and collect it.
The menu is very varied, and the Specials are all excellent. I would particularly recommend the Chicken Chot Poti, a familiar favourite for us!!By bluenoseneil at 07:50 on 12/02/10
