French cuisine expertly prepared at La Flambe restaurant near Chippenham, North Wiltshire. At La Flambe we offer a wide variety of choices in this exquisite French cuisine restaurant in Sutton Benger.
On our menu you will find a host of fresh fish selections, beef steak that will make your mouth water and a more traditional Sunday lunch. We have a list of over sixty wines, a fully licensed bar and wonderful facilities.
I recently went to the Greek night at La Flambe which was £19.99 a head. I have to say it wasn't very Greek! It is a nice atmosphere in there but the food was definitely mediocre. The olives were so bland. The tzatziki was nice but then tzatziki is not hard to make. The fish course was okay I had grilled sardines for the main course which were again okay but nothing to rave about. My partner had stuffed aubergine which was very disappointing and bland and my cheesecake had a very strange base made out of oats. I love cheesecake so this was a big disappointment!
I'd always heard such wonderful things about La Flambe that I'd put it up there as some sort of food Mecca, so when I went on a Sunday afternoon back in March I had very high expectations for the restaurant.
Upon arrival I found one of the waiters manners a little bit strange but wasn't sure if maybe I just didn't understand his sense of humour. I had the french onion soup to start which was rich and indulgent and then plumped for traditional Roast beef and it didn't disappoint. The beef was pink and juicy, the roast potatoes crispy and the veg buttery and plenty of it to go round.
However my boyfriends brother who also had the roast beef said his meat was chewy and overdone. A few of my friends also went on my recommendation last week. One couple came back less thrilled than I hoped they would, saying their steak was fatty and chewy but the other couple loved their meal, the atmosphere of the restaurant-everything! So there you have it, La Flambe seems to be somewhat dividing opinions at the moment,so why not pop along and decide for yourself!

The food has always been excellent and the service outstanding, however, recently we have noticed that the restaurant is now so busy (popular) that the poor staff are absolutely rushed off their feet and with this in mind the service did suffer slightly.
We had the 3-course set-menu Sunday lunch at £18.50 each which is excellent value and the food was outstanding but we had to wait ages for our drinks to be served and we asked for a jug of tap water which never materialised, it took forever for the staff to take our main order as well as our dessert order and we had to grab a passing staff member to ask for more drinks. Albeit, the staff were always very polite and professional – they just could not cope with the volume of people they had to serve!
I agree with jonnyboy, the restaurant isnt as good as it was last year, the first time we went was on our annaversary and we had a lovely meal but we have been twice since, on christmas day and valentines day, christmas day the restaurant was freazing and they pile the food on you plate instead of leaving it to help yourself so is very overwelming, i was also disapointed with valentines day, they hadnt made any effort to decorate the restaurant, the food was tasteless, and they just throw it on your plate, i prefered it when you had the veg and potatoes left so you can help yourself instead of having to have it piled on, for £30 a head i expected better, wont be going again, think the restaurant has gone down hill.
La Flambe Ok , meal we had for ten plus people or so was OK, very heavy and stodgy food, loads of it, but a bit mass catered we felt, and felt rushed and hastily put together. OK but not as good as when it was in Malmesbury, nice service , but could do better with large parties.

Had out christmas dinner here, food was nice but unfortunately the restaurant was very cold so had to sit for 3 hours feeling cold, spoilt the dinner a little, other people commented that they were froze as well. plus wish they would put the cheese course in the kitchen instead of just on a table in the restaurant as was put off from having my cheese because some parents allowed there small child to pick the grapes of the top of the cheese, cant belive some people, havent they heard of hygiene, perhaps putting a lid over the cheese would help.
I ate here again recently for what i think was the third time and it was as good as ever. More than enough food but consistently good quality. I went for the Fruit de la mer and didn't want it to end! Great atmosphere, friendly staff. It is pricey but for something special you won't be disappointed.

La Flambe in Seagry Road cooks up great-tasting modern European cuisine made from quality ingredients and served with style. Their menu is extensive and contains something to suit all palettes, and the service, even at busy times, is efficient and friendly. Their wine list is also superb, with wines available from a range of countries.
La Flambe really is a great French restaurant, worth going out of your way for. The food on offer is very varied and impressively friendly service means that you feel very welcome and comfortable. The vegetables in particular are wonderful, and there is a great range of delicious dishes to choose from.
