Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones Declines Policy Interview

Another day, another chance to openly discuss policy in Chippenham
declined by the Tory candidate, Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones. This time it’s a
mooted piece in the Guardian, who wanted to track the candidates and
the debate for a week, interviewing all of us and giving everyone in
Chippenham and further afield the chance to learn more about the people
trying to represent them.
So far, I am aware of two hustings events he originally declined, but
under pressure has been forced to attend. Events like hustings and
proper newspaper interviews are absolutely vital for the vibrancy of our
democracy. Why does Mr Emmanuel-Jones refuse to get involved? The
Tories talk about transparency and new politics, but when it comes to
the crunch, Mr Emmanuel-Jones’ engagement goes as far as shouting from his horse and moody photoshoots. Chippenham deserves much better
than a brand of sausages as an MP.
Take a look at his web
site and Facebook page. See if you can find a policy
anywhere. In fact, maybe you’d like to ask him why he’s running scared
of the political debate and scrutiny this constituency and the country
as a whole so desperately needs?
