Chippenham high street will soon be given a makeover after funding was secured for some trees to line the road.

Councillors have agreed to spend up to £13,000 on ten trees, which will be placed in the town centre after discussions about sprucing the town up began in February.

Following a vote in favour at the amenities committee, the final say on funding was left to members of the strategy and resources committee.

It has not yet been decided where the potted trees will be placed, but they are likely to line the High Street with the aim of brightening up the centre of Chippenham.

Excellent photo. I had forgotten what trees look like living in Chippenham! I completely agree with Nimby101 ... put some nice big oak tress in front of Poundland to cover it up.

Maybe they'll help disguise the state out town's in, never mind that shops are empty and we've got a Poundland now, nothing a few trees won't fix!
