Hollyoaks Actor To Turn On Chippenham's Christmas Lights

Hollyoaks star Kris Deedigan is set to kick off Christmas in Chippenham when he turns on the festive lights next weekend.

Mr Deedigan, 30, who plays new school teacher Des in the popular Channel 4 soap will appear at the annual event next Friday, November 20.

The actor has family roots in the town, and worked with the town's young people at local charity Kandu Arts.

He appeared in ITV soap Emmerdale as well as a host of theatre productions before joining the cast of Hollyoaks in September.

The Chippenham Light Switch will happen at 6.30pm, and aswell as Mr Deedigan ITV West presenter Peter Rowell will be there with the ITV Roadshow, and Chippenham Mayor Coun Marian Stickland.

There will be a fireworks display following the big switch on as well as refreshments and events for children and families.
