Police arrested three men on Charter Road this weekend after a PCSO spotted a bag of cannabis in their car.
The PCSO (A Police Community Support Officer) was on patrol in Charter Road, shortly before 4pm on Saturday when they became suspicious of a car with three men inside.
The officer approached the vehicle and spotted what was believed to be a bag of cannabis.
Police officers were then called to search the vehicle, uncovering further bags of the class B drug.
Three local men, two aged 19 and one aged 25 were arrested on suspicion of possession of class B drugs with intent to supply. All three have subsequently been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
PC Emma Higgins, Community Beat Manager for Chippenham Town South said:
“As a direct result of feedback from the community anti-social behaviour and drugs are priorities for police in this particular area and these arrests show our determination to tackle these issues head on.
“Whilst this was a good result and we have been successful in removing drugs from our streets we will not be complacent in the task we face and will continue to work hard to achieve more positive arrests like these.”
