Festivalgoer’s in search of a cheap local option this summer need look no further with Fieldview on offer in Little Somerford.

Just outside Chippenham the small village will be hosting the intimate festival for the fifth year running.

And with local bands, local food and a bargain price tag the festival could be just the ticket for those looking for an affordable alternative to Britain’s music mad summer festival season.

Fieldview is set to take place between August 6 and 8 and tickets cost just £25 on the gate or £20 in advance, including a free Fieldview t-shirt.

The festival began in the organiser’s parent’s back garden in 2005, where they put on live music and a barbeque for a few friends.

Since then it has evolved into a mini festival, in a field not a garden, and last year attracted hundreds and showcased 15 bands.

Fieldview 2010 is expected to bring even more laid back music lover for a weekend of (hopefully) sunshine.

The organisers say: “Fieldview has a very simple philosophy. Everyone has the power to have a positive impact in every action and decision they take. Fieldview uses this idea to run the festival as sensibly and positively as our budget will allow.

“All our musicians and performers come from the UK, therefore meaning that we don’t fly anyone in to perform.”
