Festivalgoer’s poured into Little Somerford this weekend for the biggest Fieldview yet.

The festival attracted 900 people, more than double last year’s numbers, and proved to be the biggest crowd since the small locally organised festival began six years ago.

It all started in the organiser’s parents back garden in 2005 and has now grown into a fully fledged festival.

The festival kicked off on Friday with a Wild West theme fancy dress and live music and the fun continued all weekend.

The festival maintains a family friendly, relaxed vibe and was popular with teenagers, children and adults.

Matthew Jenkins 24, went to Fieldview for the second time this year.  He said: “It’s so much bigger this year, there’s easily twice as many people here.

“The atmosphere is so chilled out and there’s loads to do. It’s so much better than a big festival because you can do what you like and just have a good time. It’s not full of rules and do’s and don’ts.”

The line up was packed with local talent including OST, Killamonjamo and Venice Ahoy.

And local food retailers kept the crowds fed and watered with a range of exotic offerings and there were plenty of workshops to keep people entertained in between music.

The festival is expected to be bigger and better next year and preparations are already underway.

Who knows, maybe it’s a festival to rival the likes of Glastonbury and WOMAD on our doorstep?
