The roadworks in Pewsham have now begun and I discovered yesterday that it's due to a Pedestrian Crossing being built there so people can cross the busy and fast road safely across to the cycle path, Mortimers Wood etc. What does everyone think about the new crossing?

Any decent crossing point to get across to the lovely countryside on our doorsteps is a welcome idea. If you have tried to cross here you will understand how dangerous it can be, and quite scary especially with kids in tow.
Although it is a 50 limit, there are a few who really abuse this limit, it is pleasing to see these selfish gits being booked by the unmarked police cars who sometimes patrol here.
What grinds my gears though is why some self-centred drivers (check the G&H) get upset by folk wanting to have safe places to cross roads. It doesn't matter if the road is a 'bypass' or not. People have the right to cross roads safely don't they? Are they really happier that people are put in danger so they can get somewhere 20 seconds quicker so they can use all that time saved to do ****** all ? Someones injury or worse really wouldn't bother them?

I use the road twice per day, I will have no problem with stopping so our fellow neighbours and friends can safely cross over, and would say the same for any road crossing anywhere.
Anyone who really does feel inconvenienced by this - come on... get a grip.
