Hopefully the new Council is finding it's feet by now, and is making progress in integrating all the old districts, and making the promised £15,000,000 saving through going 'unitary'. I understand that the highways budhget is likely to be severely stretched after all the snow, but there are some awful examples of potholes around the place, and none more than in Derry Hill where I live. The combination of traffic calming and potholes should make for a heady mix to slow traffic down, but it seems to have speeded them up, in the hope that they can 'fly' all the hazards I think.
I have also complained to the new Council about the disgraceful state of the A4 layby, with fly tipping causing an environmental problem, but so far, no action to solve the problem. I think Bowood is getting the blame, as the rubbish has been tipped onto their land, but I dont anticipate any action from that quarter, so maybe the Council should clear it up, and recharge Bowood! Establish their environmental credentials which are a little stretched at present.
