Thieving Council. I have had the misfortune to try and report a broken ticket machine in Emery Gate Car Park this lunchtime. It took my money, £1.30, and did not give a ticket. OK not a massive issue, not too concned about thenmoneynas I am ot hard up and these things happen. I decided to do the right thing and ring the number on the machine to report it faulty, so it could be fixed.

Imagine my surprise then, when I rang the number and got a "our offices are now closed" voice mail. OK it is Saturday lunchtime, so maybe Inwas expecting too much, I guess Imwill have to leave a message. Oh but wait. I can't do that, because it's not an emergency.

If your going to advertise a number so people can report the fault, at lest check to ensure that you have the facility to do so.

To add insult to injury I had no more change to by a ticket at another machine, and I am not ringing up that other number to pay over the oddsnfr a ticket, so I guess I won't spend that £50 in town, that I was going to, as I dont wantto risk getting a parking ticket. I'll get my shopping later when I'm out visiting friends over the border in Somerset.

Oh and now I'm so annoyed with the stupidity of the council, that I want my £1.30 back. I think every time I visit the town from now on, I will park up near Halfords (for free) and walk the rest of the way.
