Sand and water will improve the Park hugely. Don't get me wrong John Coles park is a lovely place to take children for a few hours when the sun is shining. however, the facilities are more than a little tired. Some of the new additions, speaking phones will amuse the children briefly, but something more substantial is required. As a father of two I've visited a few parks including Hengrove and Victoria park. It seems sand pits and water play are an engaging mix for children. Perhaps some of our council money could be better directed in this way, to give our children the services they deserve. As for older children, I'll leave that for another day!

I like the idea of Chippenham's own beach in the park! Maybe we could get the council to consider this?
