FRONT FOG LIGHTS !
When its not foggy (i.e. greater than 50yds visibility about town) DO NOT USE THEM!
It is a driving offence, you will get an on the spot fine. Stop dazzling oncoming traffic and switch them off. No one cares that you have a higher spec car that has them.

It seems just because theres been a bit of bad weather that numpties feel justified to light them up - why?
Its almost like a badge that people like to display showing that they have these lights as generally it is the higher spec models that have them fitted. So to you idiots in your 12 year old beamers and saxos, when you pass a plod he will fine you. No one is impressed. What will impress though is if you think of others for once and switch them off.
On my work commute of 7 miles, most recently I note about 15 vehicles on average pass me by like this. I dont know if they get the hint as I toggle my fog lights at them to alert them to their error. It also seems infectious, I've seen people switch them on because they see other cars with them on.

Think of other road users, avoid a penalty, switch them off.

Humbug, there, got it off my chest. Have a safe and merry Christmas.

That is one of my pet hates, along with those who do not put their headlights on in the rain (which is also a requirement). Another is those on Dual Carridgeways who think they don't have to dip there headlights because they are the other side of the road, and think that bit of metal and grass stops all light!

This morning, it was the person doing 20mph along the A4 between Chipp and Calne, and turned off with out even indicating. The road is full of idiots these days.

What I see far more often, and is way more of a problem to me as a motorcyclist, is the modern trend to switch on the rear fog lamps in around October and off again in May. It is a problem to car drivers of course, but more so to bikers as there is a much greater chance of flare on m/c visors. This will then completely obscure that vehicle's brake lights, even their indicators. This again is an offence, but I have seen people with their rear fogs on cruise past parked police cars to no effect.
