Police Enquiry Office on the move to Monkton Park, Chippenham

Wiltshire Council has announced Chippenham's Wood Lane Police Enquiry Office Team will be moving to the council's Monkton Park premises Monday, 25, March 2013.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team and Police Response Officers have already moved to the new premises in a bid to save money and to improve services to local people.
Local Policing North, Superintendant Gavin Williams said: "The move of Chippenham Enquiry Office from Wood Lane Police Station to Monkton Park is the last stage of a phased programme to relocate public facing police services in the town with the Neighbourhood Policing Team and response officers already based at the council premises."
The move is part of Wiltshire Council's transformation programme which will save £85 million over 25 years. The savings will used to invest and protect frontline services in the county.
The office at Wood Lane will still be open to the public until Friday, 22, March 2013. Services at Monkton Park will remain the same with opening times of 8am-8pm Monday to Saturday and closed on Bank Holidays and Sundays.
Cabinet Member for Transformation, Stuart Wheeler said: "I'm delighted the final part of this move in Chippenham is taking place. This is exactly the type of innovative working which makes the best use of public resources and allows us and the police to reduce costs and protect frontline services."
