A local business in Chippenham announced that it has successfully launched bacon into space.

The crew with Pigasus.
Fly on the Wall, who specialise in camera software including CCTV, decided to make a project to successfully launch bacon into space for the first time in history.
Bacon was packed into the homemade pig-shaped container, last minute safety checks were carried out before the countdown began for the historic space flight.
Chris Fielden, one of the members of the project said:""There was a lot more to think about than we first anticipated when we took the project on. We had to get permission to launch from the Civil Aviation Authority, do some pretty mind boggling calculations to do with the weight of Pigasus I (our Space Capsule) against the amount of lift the balloon would provide, consider weather conditions to predict where Pigasus I might land and, as there is currently a world shortage of helium, buying all the necessary goods was challenging. But it was well worth it."
Lift off went without a hitch and "Pigasus" touched down on earth 50 miles away at Tongham Motor Club.In a statement released by flyonthewall.uk.com they said: "Fly on the Wall have sent bacon higher than any bacon has gone before, using one of their GoPro Hero cameras to record its epic flight."
'Pigasus' was launched at Chippenham Cricket Club which recorded its journey into space filming every moment.
Dave Langdale, another member of the project said:"We didn't realise there was going to be so much work involved until we started doing the research. But seeing the footage of bacon in space made it totally worth it!"
