Lackham students success at inter-college horse competition

Horse Management student at Lackham College were celebrating after being presented with rosettes at an inter-competition in Hampshire last Wednesday.

The students came eighth out of twelfth in the competition which consisted of three categories to compete in including: the dressage event, two competitors in show jumping and four students in the general knowledge and equestrian themed quiz.
This is the fourth year the students have competed and were very pleased with their final position in the competition.
A lecturer in Animal Management, Jo Beck said: "As a department we are very impressed at how well the student, who were in mixed groups, worked together and supported eachother."
The competition which was held at Sparsholt College, Hampshire is designed to assess the Year 3 BSc (Hons) Equine Studies students in a Leisure and Event Management Unit for their course.
Each rider had only ten minutes to get to know their allocated horse before the competition.
Each competitor paid a fee of £20 to be part of the competition which was donated to Cancer Research UK.
