A man who robbed a petrol station cashier at knifepoint is still on the loose despite police appeals for information.
To help find the attacker, detectives are re-appealing for further help to identify a man following the incident in Chippenham back in August.
An appeal was made at the time for information but the man is yet to be caught.
The Total Garage on London Road was targeted at around 9.35pm on Wednesday August 10 this year. A man approached the counter and asked for a box of matches. He then took out a knife from the rucksack he was wearing and lunged over the counter asking for money. The cashier stood back whilst the man took money from the till before walking out.
He is described as white, around 30 years old and approximately 5'5" tall. According to police he was unshaven with hair growth under his nose and was wearing a beanie hat with yellow/green and black stripes. He is believed to have had fair blonde hair and was wearing a black jacket and carrying a dark rucksack with a light coloured strap.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Lemon from Melksham CID believes the suspect is from the Chippenham area. He said: "This was a very frightening attack for the cashier working at the time and it is fortunate that he was physically uninjured.
"Despite an original appeal and on going enquiries including reviewing further CCTV and enquiries with neighbouring forces it has not been possible to identify the offender.
"We are confident someone does recognise this man. People may also have a piece of information about the incident that they think is insignificant but it could hold the key to us finding the person responsible."
If you recognise the man contact police on 101. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
