Chippenham River Festival needs rafters to race

The Chippenham River Festival organisers are appealing for any budding rafters to take part in the weekend's main event, the raft race.

Spaces are still available for the race, which will take place on August 27 as part of the water-based events during the river festival.

The raft race has been a huge success in previous years and usually drums up plenty of good competitive spirit from participants, who generally include local business or groups.

The race costs £10 to enter and the prize is £250!

Teams of 4 to 6 people can enter per raft but don't worry if you haven't got a complete team, or a raft even, you can still give it a go. The organisers will happily help you arrange a full team and something to race on.

It's a good team event and is always a lot of fun, so whether you fancy trying it with friends or work colleagues, give it a go!
